Our very first attempt was... well, let's just say it was an experience. We absolutely hated it. It was sour, vinegary, and nothing like the refreshing drink we imagined. We were so disappointed, but strangely, it made us even more curious. If people in the US loved this, there had to be something we were missing. We were determined to figure it out.
So, we started a deep dive into kombucha. We researched everything we could find online, from the science of fermentation to the different brewing techniques. We experimented with different teas, sugars, and fermentation times. We learned about SCOBYs and how to care for them. We even watched countless videos of people brewing kombucha in their kitchens.
Our kitchen became a laboratory. We tried making different flavors, constantly tweaking our recipe. We learned all about how it works, how to balance the sweet and sour notes, and how to create a smooth, refreshing drink. We loved drinking it ourselves and shared it with our friends and family. This time, the reaction was completely different. They loved it too!
The encouragement we received was incredible. People started asking us to make more, and the idea of sharing our kombucha with a wider audience began to take shape. Two years of experimentation and refinement later, in 2021, we officially launched Dr. Brew Kombucha.
Our kitchen, once a place of frustrating first attempts, became a bustling hub of innovation. We perfected our brewing process, ensuring consistent quality and maximizing the health benefits of our kombucha. We learned how to coax out the most vibrant flavors, creating a range of kombucha that was not only good for you but also delicious.
The positive feedback from our growing customer base was overwhelming. Repeat orders flooded in, fueled by trust and a shared appreciation for our dedication to quality. It wasn't long before our humble kitchen couldn't contain our growing passion. We transitioned to a dedicated production house, a testament to the power of kombucha and the unwavering support of our loyal customers.
Now, we produce approximately 7,000 bottles and cans of kombucha every month! We sell it to many cities in Indonesia. We know kombucha is really good for you.
But, in Indonesia, not many people know about kombucha. Some people think it's too expensive or doesn't taste good. We saw this as a chance to help people! We wanted to make delicious kombucha that everyone could enjoy, at a price that everyone could afford.
We don't just want to sell kombucha. We want to tell people about it and show them how good it is. We think everyone should be able to drink healthy and tasty drinks. We want kombucha to be a drink that everyone in Indonesia loves!
